Entry fees for the Bhutan Ultra 2027 regular itinerary (SDF* included, 5% VAT excluded):

from June 1st, 2027 USD 5,900

Cost for the extra 3 days for the extended itinerary are USD 800 per person. This includes SDF, accommodation (3-star category), meals, water, transport, guide services and entrance fee to visited sites. Not included is 5% VAT.

*The entry fee includes the visitor tax, also called Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD 100/day. The funds raised through SDF are utilized for projects that promote Bhutan’s economic, social, environmental, and cultural development. These include initiatives such as preserving cultural traditions, enhancing sustainability, upgrading infrastructure, and providing free healthcare and education.

VAT (consumer tax) of 5% was newly introduced to Bhutan in January 2026 and is not included.

The entry fee is equal for both distances because the athletes in the 150 km will require a little less assistance on the trail on some days but on the days that are shorter for them, they require more logistics and guide support.

Entry includes:

  • Sustainable Development fee (SDF) of USD 100 per day
  • Race infrastructure and support
  • Transfers, accommodation (3-star category or camp) and all transportation (as per itinerary)
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner – with the exception of the race days on which only breakfast, checkpoint snacks and dinner is provided)
  • Finisher medal
  • Domestic flight from Trashigang to Paro
Entry does not include:

  • 5% VAT
  • International flights
  • Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks
  • Tracking service
  • Evacuation from course that requires local health services (e.g. helicopter rescue)
