Flying to Bhutan
The destination everyone will need to fly to is Paro International Airport in Bhutan. Arrival day is November 14th, 2025 for the long itinerary and November 17th for the long itinerary. We will contact the Bhutanese airlines to see if they would be interested in some kind of special for our athletes but it may be tricky as athletes from differenct parts likely will fly to different airports before doing the final leg to Paro. We will work with Discover TBT to make some suggestions as soon as we can.
Accommodation
upon arrival and within the race itinerary booked all accommodation is included in the entry fee, i.e. athletes do not need to make any hotel room bookings. During the days pre- and post-race we will stay in category 3* hotels. During the race days athletes share tents. The tents, sleeping cots and sleeping bags will be provided. A sleeping bag liner and inflatable travel pillow or similar needs to be brought along by the athletes.
It is possible for athletes to stay in Bhutan longer, i.e. arrive before the scheduled time or stay past the race departure day. We ask athletes who would like to do that to contact us, so we can plan accordingly. Any extra days and cost for these need to be paid for by the athletes. As a local travel agency, Discover TBT can assist with programme suggestions and bookings.
Transfers
Like the accommodation, any regular transfers that are part of the race itinerary (including the acclimatisation days and the two post-race days), are included in the entry fee. Transfers will be by bus, van or pick-up truck.
After the race, we will either drive back to Paro by bus/van or try to fly back from an airport in the East of Bhutan. Details will depend on weather, road conditions and flight availability. This transfer is also included in the entry fee.
Not included are medical transports.
Friends & Family
We will put together a programme for friends and family members of athletes who want to be part of the Bhutan adventure. Before and after the race these guest will do the same tours. During the race, friends and family members will have their own accommodation and a combination of guided sightseeing and visiting places along the Trans Bhutan Trail where they can cheer on the athletes.
