The dream lives on, and we’re happy to introduce the first two athletes who have signed up for the Bhutan Ultra 2027!
A warm welcome to Cody Rokosz and Chas Stewart, both from the United States.
While they come from different backgrounds and have their own reasons for joining us, they share a passion for adventure and exploring extraordinary places.
We’re delighted that they’ll be part of our journey along the Eastern Trans Bhutan Trail in November 2027.
Cody Rokosz – USA
Athlete #1
First on our race roster is Cody Rokosz, an adventurer and endurance athlete from San Diego, California.
From mountaineering adventures and Ironman triathlons to tackling the frozen trails of the Lapland Arctic Ultra, Cody is no stranger to challenging himself and exploring new horizons.
Now he’s preparing for a very different kind of adventure in the Land of the Thunder Dragon!
We’re thrilled to have Cody leading the way.
Chas Stewart – USA
Athlete #2
Our second registered athlete is 36-year-old Chas Stewart from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
An outdoor educator and adventure enthusiast, Chas has a particularly personal reason for joining the Bhutan Ultra. As he explains:
“I’m Chas Stewart, an outdoor educator and adventure enthusiast from the US. I’m excited to take on the Trans Bhutan Ultra as an opportunity to reconnect with Bhutan, a country that holds a special place in my family’s history through my grandfather, who travelled there in the 1950s.”
What a wonderful connection to Bhutan! For Chas, this adventure will be more than a running challenge. It will also be an opportunity to reconnect with a special chapter of his family’s history.
Who’s Next?
Cody and Chas will be joining us in Bhutan from November 6–19, 2027, for an extraordinary adventure along the eastern section of the legendary Trans Bhutan Trail.
With two distances to choose from — 200 km or 150 km, both over six stages — the Bhutan Ultra combines the challenge of stage running and hiking with the opportunity to discover Bhutan’s remarkable landscapes, people and culture.
We’re excited to see our race roster beginning to grow and look forward to welcoming many more adventurous souls!
Welcome aboard, Cody and Chas!
